In this workshop, we encourage people to write stories inspired by the following pictures:
Here are some of the stories written by people:
It is the Chinese New Year Eve.
A woman and a man are walking on the street in a busy city.
People on the street are all with their relatives, just leaving a restaurant.
The woman was holding the man’s arm, wearing red.
She was hoping to take the man home, and spend the New Year Eve with him.
As they were walking on the street, the man spoke casually:
“I am always honest with you, you know.”
The woman felt a bit curious “what is that?”
The man said “Well, I felt I no longer have feeling for you… A bit tired of you.”
The woman suddenly felt speechless. “Oh?”
The man continued “I’m sorry. That is how I have been feeling recently.”
The woman didn’t know what was the next move for this man. But she could not stop but having an omniscient feeling about the ending of this year.
The man said “Let’s break up”
The woman said “Are you sure?”
The man said “Well… I…. I’m also very conflicted.”
“Oh, if you are unsure. I guess the answer is pretty clear.”
“I can’t believe our love is so short-lived.”
The man did not reply, instead, looking cold.
The woman felt even colder than what the outside weather was supposed to be.
“In that case, I wish you have a nice 2023.”
The man nodded. He turned around and walked in the opposite direction.
The woman headed home, a lonely home.
It was freezing cold. So was her memory.
A famous guitarist just finished his tour performance in the city. He got an idea of pretending to be a busker on a busy street and started playing songs. All people walked past him except a little girl who stopped by and listened to him carefully. Thousands of people spent hundreds of dollars to attend his stage performance but nobody paid attention to him playing on the street.
An empty chair is waiting for a song. A little girl is waiting for a chair.
A man played a song to a little girl: whenever you need, you will have a chair.
Future will tell, they provide a chair for each other and accompany to the end.
